FAQs

• Why wouldn't I just hire a full-time designer or a traditional agency?

  An experienced full-time senior designer will cost well in excess of $120,000 per year, and that’s before factoring in benefits, employer taxes, etc. Additionally, the chances of finding a single senior creative with proficiency in everything from print design to web design and illustration to animation are akin to stumbling upon a unicorn in the forest. Regarding a traditional agency, you’ll pay exorbitant rates to support the bloated layers of bureaucracy, from account executives to project managers. Not to mention the overpriced physical office spaces in San Francisco, NYC, or even Salt Lake City. Furthermore, after the honeymoon period of 1-3 months, you’ll likely be relegated to working with the B or C teams.

• How long does a design take?

  The timeframe depends on the complexity of the project. That being said, you will receive consistent progress updates in the form of design iterations. If you choose our middle-tier subscription, these iterations will come every 48 hours on average.

• How can I schedule a call?

  If you’re new to CR8R and would like to learn more about how it works, we’d be happy to arrange a 15-minute call to answer any questions you may have. Outside of these introductory calls, we don’t offer scheduled calls. Our business relies on efficiencies gained by building the CR8R system around an asynchronous communication model, ensuring that our Creative team can focus on what they do best—execution. Phone calls, video calls, or in-person meetings disrupt the creative flow.

• The subscription buttons say currently unavailable, why is that?

  In an effort to provide the best possible service to our valued customers, we limit the number of customers we take on to 10 per senior creative on staff. So, if the subscription button indicates that we’re unavailable, it means we are currently at capacity. Feel free to check back later or email Ike to inquire about getting on the waitlist.

• What if I have a rush project?

  Depending on your subscription level, we can pause your other projects and focus on your new rush project. Turnaround times will still be in line with your subscription level. If you are on a lower level and need our quickest turnaround of 24 hours, you can upgrade to the highest tier and then return to a lower tier after your rush project is finished.

• Do you limit the number of revisions?

  No, you have access to unlimited revisions as long as you maintain an active subscription.

• How does the pause thing work?

  Let’s say you subscribed to CR8R Studio on the 1st of the month and by the 20th, your current design needs have all been met. Well, hit pause on your account, and you won’t be billed again until you’re ready to resume. In this scenario, you’ll have a ~10-day credit on your account to work through before you’re billed again for a new month.

• Is there any design work you don't do?

  We reserve the right to refuse to work on any project based solely on our discretion. For example, we will not work on projects that promote hate, addictive substances, pornography, MLM schemes, and other unsavory business practices.

• How do I request designs?

  We use Trello to manage all of our projects. Once subscribed, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to access your Trello board, where you’ll be able to create project requests. Describe your project in whatever way works best for you—the written word, photos of napkin sketches, or a video uploaded to Google Docs. Essentially, anything that can be added to a Trello project.

• Will I have an account manager?

  No, you’ll work directly with one of our 3 senior creatives primarily through Trello or other asynchronous methods.

• Do you issue refunds?

  Due to the high caliber of work we offer and the subjective nature of what we do, no refunds will be offered.
